Our Lucky 7 is here!
It is truly an exciting day when the 7th ATR 72 aircraft went for a test flight to Ipoh on Saturday, 27 June 2009. The test flight is a procedural requirement by the Department of Civil Aviation to ensure that our pilot is familiar with the aircraft and the runway in Ipoh. Â After a 45 minute flight, the aircraft landed smoothly at the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport.
The 72-seater aircraft, flown by Captains Jalil Md Dom and Mahir Effendy, arrived at 10.55am after taking off from the Skypark Subang terminal. The ATR 72 is a twin-turboprop short-haul regional airliner built by the French-Italian aircraft manufacturer ATR.
At Ipoh, Firefly head of engineering department Ismail Taib (left) briefed Malaysia Airports Berhad Fire and Rescue personnel on safety aspects of the aircraft after the test flight. Media
