Slash Blog Contest: Mohd Aniq

by Natalya on Aug.07, 2010, under Contest, General

hi. my name is Mohd Aniq Nazmin Bin Shaik Othman. I have posted in my blog,

http://aniq6ft2pbj1234.blogspot.com/2010/07/why-slash-is-my-favourite-rockstar.html.

This is the blog post.

i still remember it clearly. that unmistakable beat that you never want to end. i heard it again, this time while watching the show melodi, tv3 two sundays ago. They were covering Slash, had a phone interview and included in the programme, the famous song, Sweet Child O’ Mine with the guitar tune that is the heartbeat of the song. One of the many famous songs Slash make famous.

immediately i went to post on facebook, asking if anybody is interested to follow me to see the Slash concert in KL. very few songs can quite move a person that way, and was surprised to see the reaction i had myself. i am sure i am not the only one who feels this way. the magic that is music. or is it the music that is magical? same difference i guess!

i was just back from a holiday trip in singapore, last thursday until monday, meeting up with my friends there. one of my friends is a big fan of slash. we discussed about slash, and i found out he is going to watch slash, in singapore….. alone!!! it is because nobody wanted to accompany him.

it is funny that we always appreciate people around us, including artiste….. fully appreciate them when it is too late. why choose to wait when the time is here now? i have been persuading people to follow me to KL too, but no one seem to be really interested. but i will keep on persuading. Why? Because nobody plays the guitar like he does. Let me know when you find someone else who does.

Slash makes guitar looks like it was part of his body, part of his hands if you like, much like how people associate the ball as part of Lionel Messi’ feet.

Carole King, Ray Charles Stevie Wonder and even Ella has collaborated with this guitar genius, and also someone that goes by the name of Michael Jackson, to the mix.

I stumbled upon the story of how Slash had the top hat look while reading The Star, on Monday 26th of July.

“I was walking down the street and looked in a store window and saw this top hat and it almost spoke to me. I went in and managed to ‘obtain’ the hat and its been something i’ve been associated with since.

His music has spoken to many. In the midst of today’s hip hop culture and dance music, Slash rock music will continue to live. “Hats” off to him. He’s been proven right so far.
