Second Wave Promotion for Facebook Fans Only

Subang, 26 May 2010 – Firefly is back second time with attractive fares and flexible travel dates between July and August 2010. The second Faceoff offering both domestic and international routes, beginning 24 May and ends on 8 June 2010, offers 15 per cent discount on all seats (except flights to Langkawi and Koh Samui) for Firefly Facebook fans only, Firefly said in a statement here today.

The second promotion is back due to overwhelming response from the fans on the first Faceoff promotion. As an added value, Firefly has also thrown in a 10 per cent discount off their holiday packages. Promotional fares are now available at www.facebook.com/firefly until June 8,2010. Ms. Angelina Fernandez, Firefly’s Head of Marketing and Communications said the demand of buying online has increased since the creation of Firefly Facebook on June last year with 29,000 fans now.

The fans have shown us unremitting support over the first 30 per cent Faceoff promotion. This second wave promotion is a second chance for our fans to enjoy the promotion at 15 per cent. It is indeed a great way for us to show our fans of how convenience it is to make a booking online,” said Angelina.

The second Faceoff promotion recorded tremendous increased of sales online with total of RM87, 000. The young fans are choosing to travel with Firefly as the airline regularly offers its fans with competitive promotional fares.

Both promotions for the ticket and holiday packages are only available for Firefly Facebook fans online on a first-come-first serve basis, and seats must be purchased at least 30 days before departure.

Passengers have the convenience of flying from a city airport, hassle free check in, free 20 kg baggage allowance for check-in baggage, assigned seating, and in-flight complimentary refreshment with snack at no additional cost.

Angelina added that purchases from Firefly Facebook has picked up significantly and has increased the amount of fans. The fans are choosing to travel with Firefly as the airline provides convenience booking online and through mobile phones.

FIREFLY STRIKES “BIG” AT MDTF

Kuala Lumpur, 12 May 2010 – Firefly strikes again at MDTF this year with its  Firefly Holiday Family packages specials and its RM1 one-way Firefly mobile booking deals available on-site only.  Packages offered is catered for any “big” group travelling together, be it families, friends or corporate/ incentive trips and holiday groups.

Ms Angelina Fernandez, Firefly’s Head of Marketing and Communications said, “Firefly Holiday is excited to promote and market holiday packages to all domestic destinations that Malaysia Airlines and Firefly service. Press Release on 27 Nov 2009 Incident

Subang 27th November 2009

Firefly apologizes to all its passengers for flight delays during the Hari Raya Haji weekend. The delay was caused by ‎​an aircraft being temporary out of service for technical defect which took two days to rectify.

Managing Director and CEO, Eddy Leong clarified that the defect was not major but rectification took longer than expected due to awaiting of specific spare parts from overseas. Added to that its backup aircraft also had a minor defect on Friday but was cleared quickly.

“Unfortunately the out of service aircraft and the short hiccup on the backup aircraft caused a domino effect on all scheduled flights, resulting in multiple delays. We sincerely apologize to all affected passengers and assures all passengers that Firefly practices a very high safety standards failing which an aircraft would not be allowed to be operated.”
